Fran's Friday Five

This week I have been liking...

Pashley-Morgan

This totally new bike from Pashley is now available to order and I have two prototypes in-store to view and test ride. When I saw the first photos my favourite was the Pashley-Morgan 3 but having had them both here in the shop for a while it’s now definitely the more contemporary Pashley-Morgan 8. Be warned - the above video will make you want a Morgan car as well as a Pashley-Morgan bike.

Pashley Rath Despatch Bag

I’m currently lusting after this outrageously handsome bag - made in England from full-grain vegetable-tanned bridle leather that will only improve with age. It has an extra chest strap to stop it moving around whilst you’re cycling. Also available in black. £275

Available in-store.

In My Shoes - Royal Shakespeare Theatre

There’s a great Grayson Perry pot at this BritArt self-portraiture exhibition at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre here in Stratford (until January 2019). I’d recommend spending an hour here whilst you’re contemplating which colour Pashley to buy after your test ride.

In My Shoes explores the ways in which artists based in the UK have represented themselves in their work since the 1990s and features works by artists including Tracey Emin, Michael Landy, Sarah Lucas, Gavin Turk and of course Grayson Perry.

Espresso Bar - Long Marston

The Espresso Barn is an independent coffee shop in Long Marston near Stratford-upon-Avon. If you’re cycling on the lanes around Stratford or on the Greenway this is well worth the detour for a mid-ride refuel. Great coffee and food in a welcoming cycling-friendly atmosphere.

Thom Yorke - Suspirium

Thom Yorke’s beautifully simple and haunting title track from his upcoming film score for the remake of the 70s horror film Suspiria. Get your headphones on, close your eyes and enjoy.
